This porch-ceiling vent was an open hole with a taped foil duct sagging out of the soffit, leaking heat and inviting nesting birds. We fitted a louvered Thermo-Trap on a sealed mounting plate, flush to the soffit panel.

This is a fresh-air intake — the kind that feeds an air exchanger or gas heating appliance — and an opening that drafts constantly once the cover wears out. The replacement sits on a proper mounting block, fully caulked, with a trap built for intake airflow.

This oven hood exhaust had clogged up completely — the cover was caked shut with grease and dust, and the caulking around the frame had let go. We swapped it for a sealed louvered unit that opens under airflow and closes tight when the hood is off.

The old hood on this dark soffit was grimy, lint-packed, and uninsulated — the kind of vent that drafts in winter and freezes itself shut. We replaced it with our insulated soffit box, colour-matched in black so it disappears into the soffit.

Vent sealing starts with cleaning and prep — a trap installed over a lint-packed duct is a fire risk, not a fix.
A rotary brush pulls years of packed lint out of the line first. Every dryer vent we trap gets cleaned, because sealing a clogged duct just locks the problem in.
High wall vents are part of the same visit. Our installer handles the ladder work, so upper-floor bathroom fans and dryer runs get the same treatment as ground-level vents.
What you never see from the ground: every soffit box is packed with closed-cell foam around the duct collar before it goes up, so the vent stays above freezing all winter.
